It reads what your phone already knows
You have probably been collecting health data for years. The point of syncing is that none of it has to be entered twice.
- 01 You allow it One permission screen, per data type
- 02 It reads Steps, workouts, heart rate, sleep, weight
- 03 It writes back Its own workouts and nutrition, for your other apps
What comes in
Steps and activity from the phone or watch. Workouts recorded anywhere. Heart rate, resting heart rate and HRV where a device supplies them. Sleep. Weight from a connected scale.
That means Apple Watch, Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, Fitbit and Withings all reach Heala without a vendor-specific integration — they write to the health store, and Heala reads it.
What goes back out
Workouts you record in Heala and the nutrition you log, so the rest of your apps and the Health summary see them.
What it does not do
It does not read anything you have not granted, and permissions are per data type rather than all or nothing.
There is no direct vendor integration behind the scenes — no Oura or WHOOP account linking. The health store is the route, which is also why nothing breaks when a vendor changes its API.
Questions
Does Heala work with Android?
Yes, through Health Connect, which is the Android equivalent of Apple Health.
Do I have to grant everything?
No. Permissions are per data type and the app works with whatever you allow.
Will my WHOOP or Oura data show up?
If the device writes it to Apple Health or Health Connect, yes.
