Heala vs Fitbod
Fitbod is a strength app that plans your next session from what you have already lifted. Heala does that too — and then asks what you ate and how you slept before it decides.
The short version
Fitbod is the more focused product and it is very good at the thing it does: recovery-aware strength programming, session by session.
It is $95.99 a year on the US App Store, checked in August 2026. Heala is $79.99 and the training engine is one of eight domains inside it.
Where the difference actually shows
A strength app can only see the gym. It does not know you ate 1,200 calories yesterday, slept six hours and have a hard cardio session booked tomorrow — so it plans as though every week is the same.
Heala’s programme is written against the same account that holds your food, your sleep and your recovery, and it adapts to them. That is the whole argument, and it is worth nothing to someone who only wants a lifting app.

Who should switch
Switch if you are logging food somewhere else already. Paying for Fitbod and MyFitnessPal is $175.98 a year for two halves of one picture.
Stay if you lift and do nothing else, and you like Fitbod’s session generator. It is a mature product and Heala does not claim to beat it at its own game.
Questions
Does Heala programme like Fitbod does?
Heala writes a full week — training days, exercises, sets, reps, rest and progression — and adjusts it from what you actually complete, plus your sleep and recovery. Fitbod generates the next session in more depth; Heala plans the week in more context.
Can I bring my own programme?
Yes. You can build and save your own, or edit anything the AI generates before it is stored.
The quiz is free, takes about four minutes and needs no card. It ends with your calorie target, your macros and a training week you can look at.
