Heala vs Noom

These two are less alike than the category suggests. Noom sells a behaviour-change course with human coaches; Heala sells an app that holds your data and writes the plan.

Noom
  • Daily psychology lessons
  • Human coaching
  • Food colour categories
  • Weight-loss focus
Heala
  • Calories, macros and food AI
  • Adaptive training programmes
  • Sleep, recovery and strain
  • Body composition in 3D
  • An AI coach, not a human one
Different products for different reasons. Noom teaches the behaviour; Heala runs the training and the numbers.

What Noom is genuinely good at

The psychology. Its lessons on habit formation, cravings and self-talk are the part users consistently credit, and they address something a tracker does not: why you eat when you are not hungry.

Human coaches. A person checking in is a different accountability mechanism from software, and for some people it is the one that works.

If your problem is behavioural rather than informational, that is a real product and this page is not going to talk you out of it.

Where Heala is the better fit

If you already train. Noom is built around weight loss and eating behaviour; it is not a strength programme, it does not read your cardio, and it has no body-composition tooling.

If you want the numbers to connect. Heala’s argument is that food, training, sleep and body composition explain each other, and an app holding all four can say something none of them can say alone.

If you would rather not pay for human coaching. That is the expensive part of Noom’s model, and it is the part Heala deliberately does not sell.

The honest summary

Noom is a course with an app attached. Heala is an app with a coach attached. Pick the one that matches whether your obstacle is knowing what to do or doing it.

Questions

Does Heala have human coaches?

No. The coaching is AI, built on your own logged data, and it is included rather than sold as a separate tier.

Is Heala a weight-loss app?

It supports fat loss, muscle gain and maintenance equally. It is not built exclusively around losing weight.

Can I use both?

Some people do — Noom for the lessons, a tracker for the numbers — though it is two subscriptions for one goal.
